What to bring

Although there is no limit to the number of outfit changes, it would serve no purpose to bring more outfits than the number of poses you plan to purchase. For example, if you were planning on purchasing package D ( a four pose package ), I would ask that you bring no more than four outfits, although 2-3 may be more than sufficient. 

My suggestions on styles and colors:

    For the yearbook picture, it is usually best to wear a dressier style, something less trendy and more classic.

    I also suggest that you bring a variety of colors to wear. For example, even if your favorite color is blue, don’t bring four blue outfits.  With more colors, a wider variety of backdrops and props can be used, giving each picture a different look.

    Darker colors and earth tones work well for outdoor shots, and most colors work for inside the studio.

    Remember that these are merely suggestions. The ultimate decision is yours.

Props

    I have several different props that I use for seniors, but I encourage you to also bring

your own. Portraits taken with items that tell about your individual hobbies and interests are much more personal.  For example, if you are into football, you could bring your jerseys, jacket, football, helmet, and anything else that is related to the sport. If you have won trophies and metals for your sport or hobby, bring those along with your gear. If you play music, you could bring your instrument. If you are not sure about whether or not to bring something, keep in mind that we don’t have to use it, but at least we will have the option.

Your Session

Everyone has a different idea of how they want their senior portrait to look.  It is very important to let me know what you have in mind at the beginning of the sitting so we have pleny of time to get good shots the way you want them. 

One to one and a half hours is usually spent on each senior's portrait session.  If the indoor/outdoor session was chosen, we usually do the outdoor portraits first, at the location of your wishes.  A few of the popular places for outdoor portraits in St. Clairsville include the covered bridge (near OUE), St. Clairsville's bike trail, or various places in town, on or around Main Street.  For an extra charge of $20 (because the session is longer), Oglebay Park also has many beautiful locations for senior portraits.

Indoor portraits are taken at the studio with a variety of backgrounds, poses, and props.

      Because the owner/photographer lives near Uhrichsville, seniors can have their outdoor portraits done in the Uhrichsville/Dennison, or New Philadelphia area. If you are from this area and only want outdoor portraits taken, everything can be done without going to the St. Clairsville studio.  There are many beautiful and unique locations in this area that are great for senior portraits.

Viewing your portraits

    Because of the convenience of digital photography, you will be able to view

your pictures the day of your appointment. Please bring anyone who is needed

for the process of selecting and ordering, or you can have them meet you at the

studio approximately one to one and a half-hours after the appointment started.

If you are not going to be able to select your pictures the day of the sitting,

please inform us of that when you are scheduling your appointment so following

appointments can be set up accordingly. Otherwise, a $20 fee will be added for

each additional viewing appointment.

    A book of 12, 24, 36, or 48 proofs is available at an extra charge to add to any

of the packages; You can order these proofs before ordering your package (to help

you decide on your order) or they can be ordered along with your package. You

would select your proofs the day of the sitting, and they are generally back within

4-6 week (although sometimes longer in the busier seasons. September through December, leave 8 weeks).

Retouching

    Retouching (teeth whitening, blemish removal, stray hair removal, etc.) is

included in the price of any picture except a proof. Proofs are only cropped

and color corrected.  You can make any picture in your package black and white or sepia for no extra charge.
